u.net has dedicated years to the study of hip hop culture, African American history, and radical movements, with a particular emphasis on ethnographic research and oral history. Alongside his seminal work ‘Renegades of Funk,’ he has authored publications such as ‘Bigger than Hip Hop,’ ‘Louder than a Bomb,’ ‘Stand 4 What!,’ and ‘Original London Style’ for Agenzia X. Collaborating with Paradise the Architect (X Clan), he co-authored ‘No Half Steppin’’ (Wax Poetics Books, 20016). Notably, u.net is the creator of the documentary ‘Unstoppable,’ which delves into the origins of Hip Hop in London.
In 2019, u.net was awarded the prestigious NAS Fellowship at the Harvard Hip Hop Archive & Research Institute, recognizing his outstanding contributions to the field. Since 2006, he has actively participated in debates and conferences at leading US universities, sharing insights gleaned from his ethnographic work and oral history research. Furthermore, u.net is a regular contributor to Alias (Il Manifesto) and Billboard Italia, where he continues to amplify marginalized voices and promote cultural understanding through his writing.
